ShopBack is leading the wave of smarter shopping in Asia Pacific, by offering users a one- stop lifestyle platform that powers smarter purchase decisions.

A premier player with an established presence in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Taiwan and Australia, we have been working with leading e- commerce merchants since 2014, rewarding consumers with cashback whenever they shop via ShopBack.

We are now helping >2,000 merchants such as ASOS, Booking.com and Laz ada to deliver >35M orders totaling >USD840M, across a multitude of categories including travel bookings, transport and food delivery.

- From Desktop- Only to Mobile- First

ShopBack transitioned from a desktop- only to a mobile- first platform quickly. 8 months after the app launch in July 2016, we won the Global Mobile Challenge, which was held alongside the Mobile World Congress. That was the first time that an Asian start- up secured the top position.

The significant take- up rate on mobile app drove the quick transition as well. Within the first 6 months of launch, 30% of transactions were already being completed on app. That number has since risen to over 70% today.

- App- to- App Integration

ShopBack provides merchants with cost- effective marketing. While the mechanics of the affiliate marketing model is well- oiled on the web, they are unchartered waters in the app space. When we first launched the app, we were redirecting users to merchants’ mobile sites. However, through continuous user interactions, we understood that users prefer shopping on merchants’ app.

With this user insight, we begin to drive the app- to- app movement in the affiliate marketing space. When enabled, users can directly open merchant apps from ShopBack app for a seamless shopping experience, topped with cashback. The results have been tremendous, with 35% increase in orders for Laz ada and 200% month- on- month growth for Shopee within months of app- to- app integration with ShopBack.

- Ride Comparison

Apart from providing cashback, we build features that help users make informed decisions. Our ride comparison feature, powered by app- to- app integration, allows users to do real- time comparison of ride prices and waiting times. This helps our users to decide faster without opening the individual ride- hailing apps for manual comparison.

- Movies Aggregation

This feature allows users to check out the movies that are now showing, arranged by proximity of cinemas to the users. After selecting their preferred movie session, users will be redirected to the corresponding cinema’s site for booking.

- ShopBack GO

In December 2018, we officially entered the offline space with the introduction of ShopBack GO. Launched in partnership with Visa and Mastercard, ShopBack GO enables users to earn between 5- 25% cashback on top of their existing card rewards at over 400 F&B brands in Singapore.

Designed to complement consumers’ usual payment behaviour, the in- app feature is the first- of- its- kind offline discovery and rewards platform in Southeast Asia that fills the performance- marketing gap in the ecosystem with zero disruption to business operations and consumers’ payment habits.

~Cost- effective marketing: F&B brands pay ShopBack a pre- agreed commission when a transaction is successfully completed. Marketing exposure is free.
~ No operational changes: Staff training and device installations are not required for F&B brands to be on
ShopBack GO.

~ Convenience: Simply pay as usual with any card powered by Visa or Mastercard, including popular methods like Apple Pay and Google Pay. No wallet top- ups, voucher redemptions or QR codes needed.
~ Earn Cashback with no strings attached: Cashback is credited directly to the customer’s ShopBack account, from where they can transfer it to their bank account as real cash for use anywhere.
~ Stackable rewards: Cashback earned is on top of existing credit card rewards including miles, cashback and points.
