Josie Thomson is a leadership trailblazer who firmly believes that it’s not what happens to you that defines you; rather, it’s how you respond that counts! As a two-time cancer survivor, single mother of two teenagers, business entrepreneur, and Ambassador for Childhood Cancer Support (CCS.org.au) she understands what it takes to overcome adversity and has made it her life mission to share this with the world.
Since July 2014, Josie has taken her personal brand and business to the next level of her amazing journey. She is a keen thought leader and a great listener, continually learning from her clients and peers as well as furthering her own education by enrolling with the Neuroleadership Institute at Peppercorn University to complete an Executive Masters in the Neuroscience of Leadership.
As well as being a sought-after executive coach to the biggest name brands in the Asia-pacific region, Josie has extended her reach into the corporate world delivering inspiring and transformative workshops in growth mindsets, resilience and embracing change. Working with government authorities, Josie is a trusted ‘go to’ authority on resilience and change, delivering over 10 national workshops in the past year.
In October 2014, Josie was interviewed on ABC national radio to share her unique background in surviving cancer twice and how she overcame adversity to build a successful business as a single mother of two. This interview garnered immense feedback; Josie is now working with organistions to help them understand how to deal with cancer-related matters, from both the patients’, organisations’ and co-worker perspectives. This has been very warmly welcomed as a keyhole to maintaining performance excellence as well as mental, emotional and physical wellbeing. Josie will be developing more offerings around this topic over the coming year.
This past year, two leading financial institutions and two prominent mining giants engaged Josie to deliver her groundbreaking workshop: ‘Possibility Mindset’, to influence and change the mindset of their leadership teams. Josie has already been booked in 2015 to expand the successful impact of this program across the whole organization..
Josie’s life mission is to reach as many people as possible, to share her story and more importantly provide guidance, tools and practical skills in how to overcome adversity and build resilient leaders and communities. In November 2014, Josie presented to over 500 delegates at the national Mind and It’s Potential conference in Sydney to rapturous applause, and released her first published book ‘Enliven-U’.
Josie continues her international reach in collaborating with leading OCD expert neuroscientist Dr Jeffrey Schwartz, delivering You Are Not Your Brain masterclass webinars for three years running. Josie has developed a DVD series to compliment the 6 part webinar series with Dr Schwartz and they are highly sought after resources from her website and presentations.
The past year has seen Josie rise from strength to strength. Josie has once again proven herself with a year of acknowledgement, receiving two international business awards and a finalist in the 2014 Ausmumpreneur Awards for the Making a Difference category. Josie’s achievements exemplify her genuine care and concern for humanity and her strengths in being a leader effecting positive change on the international stage.
